Interior Architecture is the design of a space inside any building.
It can also be the initial design and plan for use, then later redesign to accommodate a changed purpose, or a significantly revised design.
Generally referred to as the spatial art of environmental design, form and practice, interior architecture is the process through which the interiors of buildings are designed, concerned with all aspects of the human uses of structural spaces.
Put simply, Interior Architecture is the design of an interior in architectural terms.
Interior Architecture may refer to:
•The art and science of designing and erecting building interiors and related physical features. Practice of an interior architect, means to offer or render a professional services in connection with the design and construction of a building’s interior that has at principal the purpose of human use of the space in mind.
•Interior Architecture is used to redesign the rooms and use of space in a building or houses to better suit the way the inhabitants want to use the space.

We decided to expand our business by opening stores in shopping centres. I engaged the services of Elfra Nugent to design the new concept and interior layout of our new stores.

Elfra designed the entire renovation of our 3 storey terrace home in Paddington NSW from our initial concepts right through to final detail drawings for the builder including shadow diagrams, engaging structural engineers, cabinetry details, BASIX, finishing schedules, scope of works and all the onerous requirements of our local council for the DA which included developing heritage impact statements and environmental impact statements. All of the builders who quoted our project commented “We’ve never had this much detail provided before”. The upfront costs during design have paid big dividends for us during the renovation.
