Interior design service is carried out in four stages as described below
- Comprehensive establishment of brief – establish a brief and brainstorm.
- Review and feedback of design at concept stage through to CC
- Interior material and colour selection
- Kitchen and bathroom design including 3D CAD drawings
- Furniture selection & delivery to site
- Working with builder on the project management of certain trades for Kitchen & Bathroom fit outs
Stage 1
– Interior Space Planning & Design Concept:
- Update the internal layout as needed to reflect client’s comments and areas requiring adjustment after interior designer review.
- Architectural changes if required.
- Prepare internal conceptual image boards including 3d renders for final look and feel.
- Prepare preliminary finish boards.
Stage 2
– Preliminary Documentation & Finishes:
- Preparation of preliminary interior documentation excluding any specialist drawings (i.e. structural, fire, mechanical, hydraulic, architectural and landscape).
- Preparation of preliminary interior details.
- Selection of preliminary Fixtures, Fittings and Finishes for the project and prepare associated schedules.
- Allow for one minor revision to preliminary documentation.
Stage 3
– Construction Documentation & Finishes
- Preparation of tender/construction documentation including specialists. Interior Design Documentation package to include the following drawings:
- Floor layout plan Partition plan (co-ordinate with architectural set)
- Reflected ceiling plan including lighting set out Power/data plan
- Joinery plans and elevations Elevations – feature areas and wet rooms
- Feature ceiling details
- Finalization of Fixtures, Fittings and Finishes & associated schedules.
- Liaise with client’s nominated specialist consultants as needed for preparation of construction drawing package.
- Preparation of 3D renders that form part of the documentation set.
Stage 4
– Furnishing and décor items
- Furniture layout and schedule.
- Obtain quotations from suppliers.
- Place orders with suppliers.
- Arrange delivery and be on site for items to be placed in correct position.

We decided to expand our business by opening stores in shopping centres. I engaged the services of Elfra Nugent to design the new concept and interior layout of our new stores.
Elfra proofed to be creative in bringing a fresh approach to the branding of the stores. We found her open to explore options and her communication and cooperation with the RDM’s, private certifiers and engineers facilitated in making the hole process running smooth. She has remarkable skills in space planning. Helping us to maximise the use of real estate.

Elfra designed the entire renovation of our 3 storey terrace home in Paddington NSW from our initial concepts right through to final detail drawings for the builder including shadow diagrams, engaging structural engineers, cabinetry details, BASIX, finishing schedules, scope of works and all the onerous requirements of our local council for the DA which included developing heritage impact statements and environmental impact statements. All of the builders who quoted our project commented “We’ve never had this much detail provided before”. The upfront costs during design have paid big dividends for us during the renovation.
